Bringing In The Gold – Lewis Hamilton with Team Lotus on Podium!

Olympic games have begun in Britain and Lewis Hamilton and Team Lotus both British did not disappoint at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The very British Lewis Hamilton led for all but eight laps of the race — briefly falling back after two tire changes — despite strong challenges from the Lotus pair.

Grosjean was often less than 2 seconds behind Hamilton until he was passed by Raikkonen as the Finn came out of the pit lane after his final tire change on lap 45.

Grosjean was diplomatic about Raikkonen’s maneuver at Turn 1, when the 2007 world champion practically pushed him off the track to take over second place.

“He did what he had to do to not let me pass,” said Grosjean, who sounded confident he would have caught Hamilton. “I went a little bit on the outside and got the marbles on the tires, and then I struggled to recover. It is what it is.”

Alonso and Perez the Spanish Magic in Malaysia

The Malaysian Grand Prix was full of excitement all because of the force of nature the great equalizer.

Two-time Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso gave Ferrari a much-needed win by taking Sunday’s Malaysian Grand Prix, a race stopped for nearly one hour due to heavy rain.

Perez challenged Alonso for the lead in the closing laps but ran wide off course heading into a turn and lost his momentum. Alonso went on to finish 2.2 seconds ahead of Perez to claim his 28th career F1 win.

“I think we maximized the potential that we had in our hands,” Alonso said. “We were keeping calm in some strange conditions in the beginning, with the intermediate tires and then switching to the dry tires at the perfect moment. We had perfect pit stops. The team deserves this victory. It’s a tough time for us at the moment, but this Sunday we will remember.”

Perez became the first Mexican driver with a podium finish in F1 since Pedro Rodriguez did it in the 1971 Dutch Grand Prix.

Ferrari had it’s game down in the pits, fast, it was a day the game was won in the pits, with multiple tire changes as required.

This race was full of excitement and skillful driving.

Force India F1 launch VJM05 2012

“We have set our sights on challenging for fifth place. To do so we will need to begin the new campaign by delivering the kind of form we showed in the second half of 2011. I believe this is a realistic goal and that we have the talent and determination to realise these ambitions,”

-Team Principal Vijay Mallya

Drivers Paul Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg pulled the covers off the VJM05 which is the second car to be created under the watch of technical director Andrew Green.

Force India took the covers off its 2012 challenger on Friday at an event held at the home of British motorsport, the Silverstone circuit, just a miles walk from the teams factory.
The car features a stepped nose, which is becoming something of a trend.

Di-Resta in an interview with Sky Sports said “I think every individual in this team has put a lot of effort into his car. The momentum we had at the end of last year, hopefully we’ve manged to carry that over but I must say it is a fine piece of art. Hopefully when it gets to track it’ll be able to show what it’s capable of.” It F1 2012 and all the magic is present for dream’s to come true.
