Toronto International Film Festival is where good (S–t) happens. As man who where at the David Bowie Film table know, The Toronto Ritz Carlton was buzzing in 2013 during the film festival as Scarlett Johansson was residing there, trying out new drinks, and may even be rocking a Jarrell Guitar, who know what the future holds. From the David Bowie table at the Ritz Bar, to the back table of the Ritz Bar where Scarlett had made camp it was all about movies and movie business.
A24 has set April 4 as the U.S. release date for sci-fi thriller “Under the Skin,” which it acquired the rights to in September, a day after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film, directed by Jonathan Glazer (“Sexy Beast”), stars Johansson as an alien seductress who seeks out hitchhikers.
Nick Wechsler and James Wilson are the producers on “Skin,” based on Michael Faber’s 2001 novel and adapted by Walter Campbell and Glazer. “Skin” also screened at Telluride and Venice.by
