Frieda Pinto turns it on in Bruno Mars’ next single Gorilla! What’s next rocking a guitar?

Frieda Pinto Frieda Pinto the girl that gave me that strong sensation of Déjà vu of a friends late mother Audrey Hepburn at Toronto International Film Festival Gala (TIFF 2013), ‘100 Years of Indian Cinema’, the grace and the glam and the utterly spellbinding personality. Frieda Pinto is giving everyone another sensation a far racier side as she writhes around a stripper pole in the provocative video released on the singer Bruno Mars Facebook page on Tuesday.
While some may be shocked by this, I am not the least bit surprised. Freida plays the sultry Isabella, a stripper in a seedy bar, her beauty the envy of the other women in the joint. Actor Luis Guzman makes a cameo as the stripclub owner, introducing Freida as the ‘new girl in town’. I knew there was a reason I like Frieda. I call it ‘changing it up’ and as I am currently directing a film documentary on David Bowie the man who throughout his life has always been changing up the game I would personally like to see a collaboration between Bowie and Pinto. Changing it up once again this time with some guitar work with Bowie? ( I seriously need to stop letting my imagination run -off). But hold on a second it not that wild an idea.

As Frieda Pinto was leaving the TIFF 2013 Gala I asked Shaun Marq who looks after some of the coolest luxury gifting lounge that he should invite Frieda to come see the goodies. Pinto was hesitant at first as her car was about to arrive but as it was on the way out, why not check it out, and that is exactly what she did. Being a guitar dude, I suggested to Frieda that she take a Jarrell Guitar, and if you don’t know how to play, not to worry. I had an ace up my sleeve. That ace was singer, songwriter, guitarist Monte Pittman. Not just any dude. This dude taught Madonna another lady who like Bowie keeps ‘changing up the game’. What happened next? These tweets say it all. You can check out Frieda Pinto’s cool Jarrell Monte Pittman guitar in this video – Check it out – Let’s all go on the wild side.

TIFF 2013 – David Bowie Is At The Ritz – Andy Warhol Style

V - NJ - Jeff Bowie Table Many people call, text and ask what is the David Bowie table at the Ritz Bar all about? Its really a very simple concept. When I began my project to film ‘David Bowie Is Around The World’ on an iPhone I borrowed many concepts originated by Andy Warhol and David Bowie. Both cutting edge forward thinkers. After all while we Instagram everything, Warhol was doing it with his Polaroid. We change filters, Warhol was doing that by coloring Marilyn Monroe. Many people take pictures of food, and Warhol did showcased Campbell Soup. Andy Warhol took his studio (the factory) and told people to drop in and he filmed them.

The Bowie table at Ritz Bar, thanks to the five star luxury hotel Ritz Carlton is just that ( the factory) across from the red carpet of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Drop in. You don’t need a plan, you don’t RSVP, feel in the mood, and if you have ‘NO RESPECT FOR THE STATUS QUO’ just drop in, and you will find yourself later in my film. All this made possible by my great partners, SKKY Vodka, Glenfiddich, Ravine Vineyard, and Jarrell guitars.

David Bowie, never cared or cares for who you are, what you do, or how much money you make, but if you are creative, of the same mind set then he will work with you. The Bowie table during Toronto International Film Festival is just that, come enjoy, meet people and do what Warhol did get the word out using media, in this case social media. So you are encouraged to help those helping make this all possible by Tweeting it, with #RCTIFF, #TIFF13 and #tiffbowieritz.

This is some of the fun that has been taking place at the Bowie Table, Ritz Bar, Ritz Carlton Toronto.

TIFF 2013 – Lisa Ray At TIFF Gala Indian Cinema 100

Lisa Ray The first time I saw Lisa Ray in a film was in film directed by Deepa Mehta and written by Anurag Kashyap called ‘Water’. I watched it with a Mexican actress Bárbara Mori Ochoa who herself had been in an Indian film ‘Kites’. After watching the film I was torn between the two women, Lisa Ray or Bárbara Mori, the subject of the film causing both Bárbara and I to hit the bottle of tequila (Don Julio) of which I had several cases thanks to Seagrams (now defunct) thanks to Edgar Bronfam Jr.’s (how to loose a family fortune by going into the movie business).

Toronto International Film Festival’s gala of 2012 ‘The Night That Never End’ recently won for the event company of Jocelyn Flanagan, Best Entertainment Production – Esprit Awards (International special event society) . You can check it out below some of what it looked like.

Canadian Lisa Ray is a well known actress, model, host, activist and cancer graduate who was raised in Toronto by an Indian father and Polish mother. It is her love of food and exposure to cuisine all over the world that brought her to this exciting role as host of Top Chef Canada. An iconic figure in India – where she started her career at 16 – and abroad, Ray is a successful cover model and award-winning actress. With starring roles in Bollywood Hollywood and Oscar nominated Water to name a few, Ray has achieved international success, appearing in more than 27 film and television titles. Her hosting experience spans her own entertainment show in India, to hosting India’s popular series OMG (Oh My Gold) on TLC, and hosting award shows such as The Genies and The Giller Prize amongst others. She has also been featured in Hello! Magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the Country and on the cover of People Magazine.

So what is the team of Deepa Mehta, Warren Spitz, and Jocelyn Flanagan up to this year. It’s just going to be one more notch above last year, and the red carpet is certainly going to be all glam with Lisa Ray. September 7, 2013, corner of University and Queen Street, at Four Seasons Center, get your smartphone ready.
