Vettel, Rosberg, Alonso It’s Showtime At Brazilian Grand Prix 2013

Sebastian Vettel won his 45th pole position for Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix, his ninth success of the season.

Red Bull’s world champion, who is looking to equal Michael Schumacher’s record of 13 race wins in the same season, beat Nico Rosberg of Mercedes by three-quarters of a second in rain-delayed qualifying. Behind Rosberg on the grid will be Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and the other Red Bull and Mercedes cars, driven by Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton respectively.

In the first session, the surprise package was Heikki Kovalainen, who put in a great lap to finish P5. But in his last weekend with Williams, Pastor Maldonado failed to make it to Q2, along with Esteban Gutiérrez, Charles Pic, Giedo Van der Garde, Jules Bianchi and Max Chilton.

In Q2, which was topped by Romain Grosjean, followed by Vettel, the six who failed to make it to the top-10 shootout were Kovalainen, Paul di Resta, Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Pérez – who crashed out on Turn Five – Jenson Button and Adrian Sutil.

It was the fourth time this season that McLaren had failed to get a car in Q3. This could be the first time that McLaren fail to win a podium in a season since 1980 and the first time since 1966 that they have failed to reach the top four.

Reborn In The USA – United States Grand Prix Formula 1

Let me put it bluntly! There is nothing like the United States of America. Keep Monaco, and Abu Dhabi, but the USA is the richest market in the world, and it can change the sport of Formula 1 forever if it’s a hit. This time they did it right by building a track.

For that reason everyone out here is getting pretty excited as the weekend approaches; downtown Austin is buzzing, the team’s hospitality units are groaning and the marketing men are salivating almost as much as the drivers. I can see why: the Circuit of the Americas looks mouth-watering. This place is fun. Come on this is Texas, with music, food, fun, it’s the good old USA.

The Circuit of the Americas is like a ‘supercircuit’; an amalgamation of favourite corners from other tracks around the world. I have been critical of Hermann Tilke-designed circuits before but he has really listened to drivers this time.

American race fans may be more interested by what is happening in Homestead, Florida, this weekend — where the Nascar season, in an unfortunate scheduling clash, also reaches its climax — but in this land of opportunity I am hopeful that Formula One will grab its big chance and leave our hosts wanting more.

It’s time to Rock’N Roll.

Rock and Roll at Airtel Indian GP 2012 – Red Bull and Carlos Santana

It will never happen yar!
It will never happen, it can’t happen, oh all this is just talk – and then not only did it happen! It’s taken the world by storm.

Last year was when Indian Grand Prix was launched it was done by Lady Gaga coming to India. Then everyone noticed India and went WoW! Yar! look at this.

Now in it’s second year, the people of India are in the mood for it again, so are the cows, the cattle and goats. Everyone is into the mix.

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana is making his maiden trip to India this week.

The Mexican-American rock guitarist performed and enthralled the audience on Friday at the Vladivar Rock N India festival in Bangalore and is all set to mesmerise his Delhi fans on October 28 as he will be headlining the F1 Rocks concert to be held in Greater Noida right after the Formula One Grand Prix.

Talking about his India tour Santana said, “It is a two-and-a-half-hour journey across collaborations. With an entourage size of 35, the performance will encompass and showcase a ‘Greatest Hits Tour’ for India.”

“We will be playing close to three hours. We will play yesterday, today and tomorrow for our fans,” he added.

The 10-time Grammy winner, who shot to fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band Santana, is a pioneer of rock, Latin music and jazz fusion. Some of his famous classics include Black Magic Woman, Smooth, Evil Days, Maria Maria and Dance Into The Night. He was honoured with the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2009 Lifetime Award and the Billboard’s Century Award and has been named among the ‘100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time’.

Here is what it will be like Red Bull racing will be zipping around and Carlos will be jamming, while everyone will be dancing.

Meet Carlos and the Red Bull Racing Team.

Take A Hike I’m Not Moving Over For Anyone – Mark Webber – Indian Grand Prix

When you’ve tasted champagne. You just want more. When you get great sex then you want more off it.   It’s not an addiction, folks.  It’s something you enjoy.

Mark Webber enjoys cricket then again he is Australia, and he loves to drive. So when Webber looks at the points and thinks he may have a chance should he move over for Vettel? hell no. Webber shared the same sentiment. “Mathematically I have a chance (of winning the title), so if I’m in the lead this weekend, I’m not pulling over for anyone.”

“It’s going to take a lot of smelly races for Seb and Fernando,” said the Aussie. “Winning some races will be useful, but if those guys finish as they normally do, then it’s going to be very difficult to get the points back, but never say never.”

Webber was not taking any prisoners as he gave one reporter short shrift who dared to suggest his remark that Alonso had a chance of the championship was not helpful to Red Bull or Vettel.

“That’s a ridiculous comment,” (as if bowling a fast ball) said Webber. “He is a two-time world champion, six points off Seb. He has a great chance to win the championship.

“Do you want me to come out and say Sebastian is the only one that can win it? You’re dreaming.”

Up next how Vettel the hunter is now the hunted.

I Am Legend – Mark Webber – Will Smith – Monaco Grand Prix

Two cool dude’s in Monaco, Will Smith and Mark Webber.

Monaco Grand Prix, starts when Cannes Festival of Films finishes. It’s been like that for years and for many, especially from Hollywood it is the one time to come down and see a Grand Prix race.

I was on the set of Matrix II on the navy dockland in San Francisco  during some of the filming and the coolest thing that happened was when a Mercedes Benz 220SL arrived on the set a gift from Will Smith to his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. This tells you a lot about a guy. It say’s hey I got you something for your birthday ‘old school’ a very cool car. Everyone on the set of Matrix Reloaded fell in-love with the car.

Will Smith brought his magic, his smile, his Hollywood man in black look, only to witness the magic of Australian Mark Webber.

Mark Webber was starting in pole position. This is no guarantee that you will also get off to a good start at this unforgiving circuit. This is Grand Prix racing and anything can happen. Mark Webber and his crew at Red Bull Racing had gotten everything right, and when the light turned he was gone, without a hitch and never made a mistake in Monaco where in a blink of an eye, a lapse in focus, the sunlight hitting you hard in the eyes coming out of the tunnel can cause you to crash. None of this happened (well for Mark Webber).

To have an Australian win in Monaco his third win at Monaco Grand Prix, with Prince the master of funk playing in Australia, and the Prince of Bel Air in Monaco with the Aussie, this was the universe saying, each one of these dude’s is a Prince, Prince of music, Prince of Bel Air, and Prince of Monaco Grand Prix, Prince Mark Webber.

This was magic. In this world don’t let anyone tell you dreams don’t come true or that magic is not real. It is my friends I saw it happen in Monaco.

NO JOSE CUERVO IN BAHRAIN JUST SERGIO PEREZ

Round four of the 2012 Formula One season runs Sunday with the Bahrain Grand Prix. Sunday’s race will be the eighth time the F1 series has raced at the Bahrain International Circuit based in Sakhir, Bahrain. The series will return to a length of (5.412 km/3.363 miles) track. The race distance is 57 laps.

Twice the Bahrain International Circuit has staged an F1 season opener. It also hosted the 2006 opener. It also holds the special designation of being the very first Middle Eastern country to host a round of the Formula One World Championship – 2004.

Red Bull’s reigning world champion pipped Vodafone McLaren Mercedes star Hamilton to pole position in qualifying (Saturday) around the Bahrain International Circuit.

Mark Webber lines up on the second row for Red Bull with McLaren’s Jenson Button fourth on the grid, ahead of Chinese GP winner Nico Rosberg for Mercedes.

Hamilton is looking to convert his second place on the grid into victory in the grand prix itself, having claimed podiums from the season’s opening three races.

Tire management will be key and perhaps Ferrari strategy of today will come into play during the race.

Sergio Perez’s car usually carries a Jose Cuervo logo on the side-view mirrors and they are distinctly absent from the car in Bahrain. A man without his tequila is no man at all. Will this be the difference for Juan Perez?

Get ready for the controversial Bahrain Grand Prix 2012.
