I have discovered some great film directors thanks to TIFF. There was Gurinder Chadha ‘Bhaji on the Beach’ and I knew then I wanted to work with her she went on to make ‘Bend It Like Beckham’. Then there was Shekhar Kapur ‘Bandit Queen’, and I would sit with Shekhar and his writers in Los Angles when he would give them pep talks while writing the film ‘Elizabeth’.
