The richness of both Indian and Pakistani fashion comes from it’s selection of fabrics. I commend the young designers who are adding both their own flair to an already textured style with a touch of exotic. The adventure of discovery has begun at MY NAME IS KHAN to seek out the new designers and the people of fashion the likes of Alexa Chung.by
If one is living life then one can always point to a place in some far flung city and say it began for me here. Paris is one such place I can say this about, as can many others. It all began for me in Paris on street lined with maple leaf trees on Avenue Montaigne at an apartment above The House of Emanuel Ungaro. For the last four years I have been watching Ungaro to see where it will go. It has great potential. Asim Abdullah dished out a small ka-chang, ka-chang $84 million for the company, but it was never about the money it was about the passion to create. Is anyone really thinking big! at Ungaro! British designer Giles Deacon while having gotten some things right just missed the mark with the spring and summer collection. Fashion weeks are not just pretty spectacles, with pretty girls, but can be divine spectacles with pretty girls and pretty people. Giles is artistic and a provocateur. But COME ON MAN! let's get this show at Ungaro on the road. The adventure of discovery in fashion begins with Ungaro at MY NAME IS KHAN.
The Australians really know how to put on a great show. Today was no exception, this F1 race had it all, the crash, the rain, the eye candy, all the elements required in order to not have a boring affair. The Australian I know never have a boring time and Melbourne, Australian F1 was anything but. The paddocks had the usual smell of light perfume and drab industrial stench, with a hint of smoke, and stale air. The grid girls with exquisitely sculpted legs, glowing with almond oil walked off the track and in a blink all mayhem had broken out.
There are always some girls that look like Ke$ha with glitter around the eye in and around the track as cars go fly’n by. Mobile 11 hours at Sebring was no exception. There was pleanty of fresh oxygen, smell of fuel, and bubble gum in the air. Highcroft racing is an exciting team, I like them, they have great energy, drivers, in Simon Pagenaud, David Brabham, and Marino Franchitti, not to mention that my patron Stefan Johansson also drove for them.
The team unveiled its new Honda Performance Development ARX-01e LMP1 machine on March 10, 2011 and here they where a few weeks after racing it, wow! is all I have to say, because that speaks volumes for the team. I just love team work, because that is what auto racing is, all the elements have to come together. The Ferrari’s, the Jaguars, Audi’s and Porsche’s flicked by. Then came the rush, towards the end when the Highcroft team produced a scintillating performance charging to finish second. Strap in as MY NAME IS KHAN takes you for a hurling spin as if helium and hydrogen in space with a sense of adventure and discovery, towards 24 hours at Le Mans.by
Three key people took me for an adventure world wide. The three where former Swedish F1 driver Stefan Johansson the team owner of American Spirit Racing, with drivers Jimmy Vasser and Ryan Hunter-Ray.
The time came for the last race it was in Queensland, gold coast, Australia and what a race it was. Anything that can happen in a race, did. There was hail, crash’s, no sound on the headphones from the pits, fuel pumps not working, car’s almost running on empty. It was the day Ryan finished first, and Jimmy second. The Aussie’s love there auto racing and those with me in the pit’s got a first hand feel of what it’s like to be in the middle of it all. Mynameiskhan is going to take you and put you right in the middle of racing this year, so buckle up and get ready for the ride, Hollywood style and the adventure of discovery.by
