Zoe! Zoe! Zoe! La Llave de mi corazon !

Zoe Saldaña kicks some serious butt in her new film Colombiana. Born in New York City, she also spent a good part of her life growing up in The Dominican Republic, so to all my friends In The Dominican Republic who like to tango too much, don’t cross this girl especially when she has a gun, because she can shoot, “sabes”. Zoe got her first break in the 2000 film Center Stage, followed by Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Trek, and a starring role as Neytiri in James Cameron’s Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time. Zoe has also done her part for that all American brand Calvin Klein.

Hollywood goes through it’s own mood swings. There was a time if you did Television you could not do Feature Films, so many actors have proven that to be all need I spell it out. Then those Hollywood agents got into the act and balked at the prospect of their client sharing the screen with another star, that went out to the wind. Then there is that Hollywood saying “Can she carry the film?”. In the case of Zoe, she carried the film and all you wanted really in Colombiana was Zoe to just go wild with action and do serious damage which she did. Looking at her in a body suit and slipping and sliding through air vents, your mind thinks “She moves like a cat!”, and you wonder wow! she really would have made a great Catwomen, but that role my friends has gone to Anne Hathaway. Zoe! you need to come to Toronto, yes it’s the film festival but more importantly you need to try some of the food from Chef Brad Long at his Café and Bistro. After all it’s all about the food as you so well put it in the Calvin shoot. Zoe Saldaña, is full of life, and the people of The Dominican Republic are family, that would make Zoe my sister. So Zoe from MY Name is Khan “What Up?”.

Total Recall- it’s fun to spend $200 million!

It is good to see Colin Farrell in my home town having a good time. The last time I saw Colin he was on stage with Oliver Stone in Santa Monica, California ready to screen Alexander. Now one can find Colin with his son, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel chilling around the city or as I found them in action! on location in Toronto filming the $200 million budgeted film Total Recall. Toronto is a very easy going place and great place to hang out in the summer! so it’s great to see a production of this scope being filmed here. Needless to say many will shake there heads at the thought of $200 million budget and how one goes about recouping it. But it sure is a hell of a lot of fun spending it. A technology wizard friend of mine in Palo Alto, California once told me how George Lucas came to him and asked, “I don’t understand all the technology, but tell me how I can use the technology to tell my story better”. Total Recall, Matrix, Avatar are all films that employ technology to tell a story, and that is all very good, but they also have one other element that is “critical” to film making, the script. I have always said “if it’s not on the page it’s not on the screen”. Total Recall, is banking on a good script, and is being painted on a large canvas. Will you recoup? Yes you will! Why? because all the elements are there. Action, two very sexy women, gun’s, flying cars,Colin and Len Wiseman of Underworld: Evolution, Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard, directing it, so come on, you are gonna get a sexy bang for the buck, and my advise to Len Wiseman, dude, please save some of the dollars on the sound track, give it one killer sound track. The action is brought to you by Colin Farrel, Kate Beckinsale, Bokeem Woodbine, Bryan Cranston, Jessica Biel with a sense of adventure on My Name is Khan.
