Miranda Kerr helped show off Qantas Airways’ new employee uniforms, the first makeover in 10 years, conceived by homegrown designer Martin Grant.

Beginning next year, the airline’s 12,600 ground and in-flight crew will sport the new look which includes trench overcoats for both male and female employees, a trilby hat made from recycled bottle tops, and strong, diagonal stripes in the the carrier’s trademark poppy red, alongside a splash of fuschia pink.

Male employees will serve as Qantas ambassadors in French navy suiting and white shirts.

The Qantas wardrobe is made up of 35 different garments and required the use of 15 types of fabrics including premium superfine Australian Merino wool for the suiting.
